Bishop Ishmael Prince Charles was born on
the island of St Vincent. He accepted the
Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savoir at
the age of nine years old and at the age of
Sixteen was filled with the Holy Spirit and
preached his first sermon. He continued with
the calling the lord had placed on his life.
His life was greatly impacted by two
missionaries Robert and Jeanette Cary, who
were very instrumental with him attending
Lee University to pursue and achieve both a
Bachelors and Masters Degree. He is the
Visionary for the New Testament Church of
God International Worship Center, located in
Baughers Bay, Tortola, British Virgin
Islands. He is the husband of Patricia
Charles and the father of two, (Ishika &
Ishroy).Serving as Pastor since 1989 his
consistent obedience to the Lord has taken
the international Worship Center
congregation from 125 to 600 and counting.
During these years Bishop Charles’ anointed
and uncompromising teaching of God’s Word
has changed the lives of people both at the
International Worship Center and around the
world. |
To accommodate the tremendous growth of
Church membership the former Church building
was expanded to facilitate the growth but
the congregation outgrew the building and a
new church project was undertaken in 2000.
The New sanctuary, International Worship
Center was dedicated on the 26th October
2003. This building has a seating capacity
of twelve hundred and already has a
membership of 800. It also houses a play
group, bookstore, conference hall, school of
music, computer school, after school program
and administration offices. Over the years
God has brought this servant and the
Ministry through many levels of His Glory.
From strength to strength, from Glory to
Glory we have grown. “God has been good” It
is the place where divinity touches
Humanity. We have seen the evidence of God’s
saving, healing, preserving and sustaining
power in the midst of the people.
Educationally, Bishop Charles has earned a Bachelor of Science in Theology from
Lee University and Master of Biblical Arts from Church of God Theological
Seminary in Cleveland Tennessee. He is also in pursuit of a Doctorate degree.
His accomplishments have included being appointed a member if the Church of God
World Missions Board from1998-2006 and also served as an elected member of the
International Executive Council of Eighteen from 2004-2008. In 1994 He was
appointed as the Administrative Bishop for the islands of St. Kitts, Nevis,
Dominica, Guadeloupe, and the British Virgin Islands and recently added the
island of Mustique/St Vincent.
Bishop Charles has achieved many triumphs on local, regional and international
levels. Locally he served as the vice president of the Christian Counsel from
2006-2007 and then as President from 2007-2008. He has planted and built several
churches and has established a growing Bible Institute locally. He is an
international speaker and mentor. Generations are changed because of his passion
for mentoring youth, men and Pastors. This passion has produced the annual
Pastors and Workers conference. This Conference brings Pastors and Workers from
across the Caribbean and the United States for a time of teaching and mentoring
this conference has lasted for fifteen years and has grown tremendously. The
conference is now being moved to other islands in the Caribbean. Through this
Ministry many have discovered their destiny in God.

will prosper…..”

Patricia Charles
then (Simpson) was born and raised in
a small town called Bilston, in the West
Midlands in England. The Church of God
in Bilston was started in the living
room of her parent’s home, Bro. & Sis.
Simpson, some 47 years ago. That church
is still alive and well today.
Patricia was musically minded and at the
age of six began taking piano lessons.
She then became the organist for the
church. Educationally Patricia
took on the profession of nursing and
became a qualified Registered Nurse and
Midwife. She has an Associate degree in
Religious Education and is about to
complete a Bachelors of Ministry degree.
Her parents immigrated to the United
States and Patricia followed after
completing her studies. Just
before immigrating to America, Patricia
met her husband Bishop Ishmael Charles,
whilst he was preaching at a crusade in
their church. The relationship
blossomed over the telephone, while
Bishop Charles was studying in the
School of Theology in Cleveland,
Tennessee. They were married in May
1989. Two months later Bishop
Charles was sent to the Island of
Tortola to pastor a church and became
the Overseer of the region.
Patricia has always been by his side.
They have two beautiful children, Ishika
age 14 and Ishroy 12.
Patricia became a licensed minister in
the Church of God in 1996. She is
the Minister of Music in the church and
also leads a choir of 65 voices. Her
accomplishments include a School of
Music with over 40 students and the
release of 3albums with the local choir.
Patricia is also the director of the
Women’s Ministry in her region as well a
counsellor and teacher of the Word.
God anointed Patricia to preach at the
age of sixteen. Since then she has
spoken in many seminars and preached in
several Islands of the Caribbean and
North and South America. Her greatest
desire is to open a counselling and
rehabilitation center for the
community. Eventually, she is hoping to
have a home.
